Fridge Bridge support bracket testing and load validation.

The Fridge Bridge Support Bracket has completed adhesive, cold-fridge, movement and load testing. This page records what was tested, what the photographs show and why the customer-facing shelf rating remains deliberately lower than the proof-test result.

Important: the 15 kg rating applies to the completed shelf installation—not to each bracket. It requires the specified adhesive, a compatible fridge liner and shelf, correct surface preparation and alignment, and the full 72-hour cure.

Test method

How the validation was carried out.

Installation and cure

  1. A Fridge Bridge Support Bracket was bonded to a suitable refrigerator-liner test area using the specified structural adhesive system.
  2. The surface-preparation and fitting process was followed.
  3. The installation was left for the full 72-hour cure before loading.
  4. A visible witness mark was positioned to make movement easier to detect.

Cold load and observation

  1. The bonded bracket remained installed inside the refrigerator.
  2. The installation was visually checked before loading.
  3. The photographed stage recorded approximately 18 kgf; subsequent single-bracket proof testing exceeded 30 kg.
  4. The bracket, adhesive bond and witness mark were checked for movement after the test.

Scope of evidence: these are internal product-development tests rather than independent laboratory certification. They support the conservative published working load, but they do not create a universal-fit claim for every fridge liner, shelf or installation position.

What the rating means

Proof strength and customer working load are different.

Published customer rating

15 kg maximum, evenly distributed across the completed shelf installation. This is the load limit customers should follow for the Repair Kit, 4-Bracket Support Kit and Full Shelf Kit.

The rating is not multiplied by the number of brackets. Four brackets do not create a 60 kg shelf rating.

Proof-test result

An individual support bracket was tested beyond 30 kg to demonstrate structural reserve. That higher result is not a recommended working load because a real installation also depends on the adhesive bond, fridge liner, shelf, position, fitting quality and how the load is distributed.

Compatibility still matters

A successful bracket test does not make every fridge suitable.

Installation is only appropriate where the fridge provides a sound, compatible liner area of sufficient size. The chosen position must avoid vents, lights, sensors, pipes, drawers and door interference. The shelf must fit correctly and remain stable on all support surfaces.

Every installation must use the specified adhesive system and preparation method. The bracket must remain unloaded for the full 72-hour cure.

Choose the Fridge Bridge route that fits the problem.

Repair an existing shelf support, add four supports for a shelf you already own, or choose the complete adjustable shelf kit.
