Add an extra shelf where your fridge has space — but no useful supports.
Fridge Bridge is testing a four-support mounting concept for people who want additional refrigerator shelf space but cannot usefully position another shelf because the fridge has no suitable fixings at that height.
Want an additional fridge shelf but have no useful fixings?
Many fridges have vertical space that is difficult to use efficiently. The new Fridge Bridge concept explores whether four accurately aligned supports could create a new shelf level for a correctly sized OEM or compatible shelf where suitable factory shelf supports are not available.
Potential setup
- Four Fridge Bridge support brackets
- Alignment template or positioning guide
- Controlled adhesive and surface-preparation system
- Customer-sourced OEM or compatible shelf in the current concept
Why four supports?
A conventional shelf is normally supported at multiple points. A four-support kit would aim to distribute the shelf load and create a stable shelf level rather than relying on a single improvised bracket.
Adding a shelf is not the same as repairing one
An extra shelf creates additional engineering questions: shelf alignment, door clearance, drawer access, cold-air circulation, lights and sensors, liner curvature and the suitability of the chosen mounting position. Fridge Bridge will not be marketed as a way to add a shelf “anywhere” in any fridge.
We are currently validating whether people would buy a four-support extra-shelf mounting kit and whether they can readily source a suitable shelf from the fridge manufacturer or a compatible supplier.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add an extra shelf to my fridge?
Some fridges already have spare factory shelf positions. Where useful fixings do not exist, Fridge Bridge is exploring a four-support no-drill mounting concept, but it is still under engineering and compatibility validation.
Do I need an OEM fridge shelf?
The current concept assumes a correctly sized OEM or compatible shelf is sourced separately. We are also measuring demand for a future complete kit.
Can I fit the shelf at any height?
No. The location must avoid vents, lights, sensors, drawers and door interference, and it must offer a suitable mounting surface. Final guidance will depend on testing.
How much would an extra-shelf kit cost?
Pricing has not been set. The research form is testing what customers consider reasonable for a four-support mounting kit.
